Featured Writing: Cait in SurfGirl Magazine!

As great as technology can be, I most definitely prefer that tactile feeling of holding a book or a magazine.

I grew up reading surf magazines - they were almost like a Bible to me - with pages tagged and tear-out posters plastered on every wall. As a grom, my dream was to be featured in the pages of those magazines. When I realized that pro surfing was not in the cards for me, my dream shifted to seeing my writing featured on those pages. In both high school and my senior year of college, I interned with SURFING Magazine (RIP) and managed to get a handful of articles published. BEYOND stoked. But my passions for surfing and yoga and more slower-paced living drew me to Puerto Rico instead. And even though the majority of in-print surf magazines are dead, I’m not gonna lie that I’m still holding onto that dream of writing about what I know and love: Surfing.

So needless to say, I was more than excited when SurfGirl Magazine (based out of Cornwall, UK) reached out to me about a collab and an opportunity to write a few articles. And to receive copies of the issues - IN PRINT - was so incredibly cool. Print is not dead. It’s just a little harder to get access to. And thanks to technology we have access to nearly everything online 😆

I shared my articles below, but if you feel passionate about supporting (and receiving) a print issue - I highly recommend that you buy a copy or subscribe on the SurfGirl website here!
