MOMENTS FROM MEDITATION: Consciously creating my best life

Shortly after my meditation this morning, as I was sipping my coffee and writing in my journal, this affirmation drifted into my mind: I am constantly and consciously creating my best life. I reflected on this, and I thought I’d share what I took from it, what it means to me, and maybe my words will also land with you.

Why are we so drawn to the ocean? Maybe it's because we are all, in some way, so much like her. Full of different moods, energies, a force of nature that is just as strong as it is soft.

Yoga is: stretching, breathing, meditating, union of the body,mind and soul… And while these answers are not necessarily wrong, through my own practice I’ve come to learn that yoga is so much more.

Follow your breath. Watch it as it enters your body and fills up your lung with sweet, fresh, pure air. With each inhale you’re breathing in new energy. And with each exhale you are letting go of all the things that no longer serve you.

Compassion reminds us that we must place our trust in the process and allow our journey to unfold exactly as it should. Not how we think it should. Because really, in yoga or surfing or life, what is the final destination?
